Thousands of Romanian nationals are already studying and working in the UK. If you are a Romanian living in the UK — or planning to move — studying here can be one of the smartest investments in your future. This guide covers everything you need to know.
Are Romanian Nationals Eligible to Study in the UK?
Yes. Romanian nationals with settled status or pre-settled status in the UK are eligible to enrol at UK universities and colleges. If you have been living in the UK and have valid immigration status, you can access the same educational opportunities as British citizens.
Can Romanians Get Student Finance?
Romanian nationals with settled or pre-settled status who have been living in the UK for at least 3 years may be eligible for Student Finance England. This includes both Tuition Fee Loans and Maintenance Loans. SAGA can check your eligibility for free — just contact our team.
What Can You Study?
At SAGA Global Education, we offer a 2-year Business and Management course designed for flexibility. You study just 2 hours per day, 2 days per week at campuses in London, Manchester, or Birmingham. Choose morning, afternoon, or evening sessions to fit around your work and family commitments.
Working While Studying
One of the biggest advantages of studying with SAGA is the flexibility. With only 4 hours of study per week, you have plenty of time to continue working. Many of our Romanian students work full-time while earning their qualification.
Accommodation and Living in the UK
If you are already living in the UK, you can continue in your current accommodation. If you are relocating, SAGA can help you find affordable housing near your campus. The Maintenance Loan can also help cover your rent and living costs.
The Romanian Community in the UK
The UK is home to a large and vibrant Romanian community, particularly in London, Manchester, and Birmingham. You will find Romanian shops, churches, cultural organisations, and social groups in all major cities. At SAGA, our team speaks Romanian and can help you navigate every step of the process.
Student Benefits You Can Access
As a full-time student in the UK, you are entitled to: 100% Council Tax exemption, student discounts via UniDays and Student Beans, 6 months free Amazon Prime, discounted train travel with a Railcard, reduced bus and underground fares with Student Oyster, and the Childcare Grant if you have children (covers 85% of nursery costs).
